Wash & Circulation Systems of Scandinavia AB has developed a system where residue products and used wash water are treated as a resource instead of waste problems.
The system allows the used wash water containing residues – washing chemicals etc. – to funnel into an internal recycling system connected to the car washing facility wherein the dangerous heavy metals and other pollutants are separated out and the useful washing chemicals recirculate and are reused.
The separation chemicals used by Wash & Circulation System consists of polyvalent ions. The polyvalent ions are added to the system near the source of pollution where the sludge is formed. The undesirable substances together with the separating chemicals are removed in an oil separator and the water is, after passing through the system, thereby clean enough for reuse.
Tests made following the installation of the Wash & Circulation System showed that the quantities of lead, cadmium and copper found in the released waste water were significantly lower despite use of the circulated water. The reduction percentage of the metals was from 80% up to 99%.
