EFO is one of Sweden’s major players in finding, securing and relocating residual waste fuels, arising from recycled household waste, recycled industrial waste and recycled wood products from all over the world. EFO is closing the loop of waste-to-energy.
EFO is owned by some of Sweden’s largest district heating companies, which utilize waste as a fuel to produce energy. In Sweden, we are lucky to have a wide network of district heating systems in almost every city. In CHP plants, we can incinerate residual waste to create heat and power, which not only gives us an efficient and environmentally friendly way to heat our homes – it also helps us to deal with the problem of growing landfills.
EFO supports its owners with importing bio fuels, both solid and liquid, and other types of waste. EFO annually moves roughly 800,000 tons of material into Sweden making EFO one of Sweden’s largest operators of bulk sea freight with a total turnover of ~500 million SEK.
EFO makes a lot of effort in building a business model that both benefits their owners and partners, with a model based on three core values: Security, Performance and Community. The main focus is meeting the owner’s demands for security of supply without compromising on core values of sustainability, traceability and ethical procurement. They are able to meet these demands through unique know-how, extensive experience, a wide global network and a great deal of ingenuity.
EFO is the shareholders extended arm offering the recovery service for international customers whilst providing the shareholders with material for energy and heat generation – “Relocating Energy”.
