IVL Swedish Environmental Institute Ltd. is an independent research body that has been involved since 1966 in the development of solutions to environmental problems on behalf of the business sector and the community.
IVL’s business concept is, through research projects and contract assignments, to provide its principals – and, thereby, the community – with scientifically based decision making bases to assist in the task of improving the environment and achieving higher growth.
IVL undertakes research projects and contract assignments in the climate, environmental engineering, waste management, work environment, environmental measurement and environmental quality evaluation areas, as well as studies of the environmental impact of air, water and soil pollution. Environmental impact assessments (EIA), life-cycle assessment and environmental systems analysis are other areas in which IVL’s activities are well established.
