20 years ago, in a village in Sweden, the first battery charger using electronic pulse technology was created. This was the start of CTEK, a company that has grown to become a global market leader in battery management solutions.
Today, CTEK sell over a million battery chargers every year in 70 countries. CTEK E-Mobility is the market leader in Sweden when it comes to charging solutions. The company offers everything from smart home chargers to complex installations with many charging stations that require load balancing. Their customers range from municipalities, energy companies, housing associations to private individuals, and more.
Market-leading solutions
CTEK has over two decades of expertise in technological innovation when it comes to battery management solutions. In 2018, the company joined the electric vehicle sector through the acquisition of Sweden’s leading charging infrastructure company Chargestorm.
CTEK now offer products ranging from 12V and 24V battery chargers, to charging solutions for electrical vehicles. CTEK’s E-mobility solutions range from individual EV chargers to larger corporate and commercial installations with multiple charging stations that require load balancing and the ability to integrate seamlessly with monitoring and payment software. The products are sold via a carefully selected network of global distributors and retailers and supplied to more than 50 of the world’s leading vehicle manufacturers.
Since the start of Chargestorm in 2009, a large volume of electric vehicle data has been registered in the charging portal, generating a broad knowledge base and a detailed understanding of electric vehicle charging behaviours.
Collaborations and future developments
In February 2022, CTEK entered into a partnership with Swedish energy storage company Polarium to develop Energy Storage for EV Charging (ESEV). By combining charging technology from CTEK with energy storage solutions from Polarium, the two companies aim to enable EV charging in a wider range of more accessible locations previously limited by grid capacity, space or cost.
