SootTech has developed a system which optimizes the internal soot system in recovery and power boilers.
The system which is called High Impact Soot System, HISS, takes advantage of that 90 per cent of the cleaning is performed on the way in and the steam can therefore be locally shut down on the way back. Thus the steam consumption for the cleaning decreases and the steam can instead be converted into environmental friendly energy.
Installation while the boiler operates
HISS does not only reduce the steam consumption but it also increases the soot effect. The installation is relatively small and is usually done while the boiler is still operating.
