Simpel Transport fills empty trucks for the environment and increased profitability. Through Simpel’s platform, hauliers and companies can be matched so that goods can also be shipped on the way home.
With an aim to simplify the haulage industry, Patric Olsson and Andreas Klingensjö started Simpel Transport. Their company would become an “Airbnb for transport”. Simpel Transport wanted to see an end to truck routes with empty cargo spaces that only cost the hauliers money and spew unnecessary exhaust fumes along the roads.
The customer outsources Simpel Transport’s assignment. If the route is suitable, the driver says yes. It should not involve any extra costs or detours. On the contrary, the point is to both increase profitability in the tough transport industry and make a proper climate contribution.
As the owner of a haulage company, Patric Olsson Simpel Transport’s CEO, saw the high costs that both the environment and companies have to pay for unused transport and together with Andreas Klingensjö founded Simpel Transport, with the goal of a more environmentally friendly transport sector.
With a digital and automated service, they must match companies’ transport orders with cars that are in the area and that already have a scheduled drive that fits the intended route.
Through the technology, the transports could thus become more efficient, but it could also lower the costs without reducing the margins for the hauliers, according to Patric Olsson. The business model consists of taking a fee for each run that they match with the hauliers.
The vision for Simpel Transport is to become the obvious choice for everyone who wants fast and affordable transport that cares about our environment.
