Green City Farming uses machine learning, robotic vision and hardware to make scalable solutions a reality. Their technology understands plant growth and improves the quality of the crops.
Green City Farming AB (GCF) shall contribute to a better and greener future by using an in-house developed hydroponic cultivation system which, when fully developed, will reduce the demand for imported vegetables and provide locally produced crops, all year round, with the best possible taste, appearance and nutritional value. The business idea is to commercialize vertical cultivation on an industrial scale and supply the local market with large volumes of locally produced & high quality crops, all year round, by maximizing the output per square meter and minimizing lead times and transport. Green City Farming has developed their own hydroponic cultivation system to grow locally produced crops, all year round. They believe their solution is the future of urban farming. Global challenges mean we need a more sustainable and scalable solution than traditional farming.
Since 2016, they have been working on developing systems for indoor cultivation. By testing alternative solutions, they have arrived at one
cultivation system that can be adapted to existing premises and has a process approach from the start. Green City Farming produce lettuce that are locally produced to a price that outcompete the import market. What makes this possible is the combination full control and proprietary technology and hardware components. Using IoT connectivity and robotisation they make lettuce production cost effective with highly scalable farms for urban areas.
