Lindbäcks Bygg is Sweden’s leading manufacturer of industrial wooden houses. They design, build, and develop environmentally friendly and resource-efficient constructions for a more sustainable future. Wood is not only a renewable building material with a high degree of refinement and minimal carbon dioxide emissions, but also a resource that grows locally.
In their Haraholmen factory, the most modern production facility for apartment buildings in the world, Lindbäcks has developed an industrial manufacturing process with support of LEAN. They prefabricate complete house modules, which are then transported to and assembled directly on the construction site. Compared to traditional on-site construction with concrete and steel, this method reduces co2 emissions by 50%.
Lindbäcks’ production facility is resource-efficient and cost-effective with a high level of security for the employees. The modern production line minimizes waste and generates a safe working environment by reducing heavy lifts and unsafe operations. Moreover, the factory runs on renewable energy (solar power and hydropower), and district heating from their neighbor SunPine.
