Broströms shipping company started Scanunit in the 1960s. In 1988 the separate limited company Scanunit AB was founded in Gothenburg. The newly established Scanunit’s mission was to offer help in solving problems for the shipping business. After several years as the majority owner, Ahlmarks Line acquired the remaining part of Scanunit in 2017. Scanunit headquarter is located in Helsingborg with a branch office in Gothenburg. Scanunit AB is also established in Denmark with a Danish company, Scanunit Industrial Services ApS.
Scanunit has had steady growth since it started in 1988. The first year the company had a turnover of 1.8 million SEK, twenty years later turnover was 96 million SEK. In 2014 the turnover exceeded 135 million SEK.
Over the years the business has expanded, and Scanunit is now Scandinavia’s leading provider of complete solutions in maintenance for shipping. The customers of Scanunit do not have to have multiple suppliers – Scanunit offers the whole package. This provides lower environmental impact and higher cost-efficiency.
Scanunit is mainly focused on EGCS and BWTS retrofit installation and offers turn-key solutions with products with well-known brands (such as Alfa Laval, ME production, Future Pipe Industry, Fibersol, etc.)
