When Green Gothenburg sums up the year, it shows another year of great interest for smart and green solutions from West Sweden. During the year we had 42 delegations with 506 participants from 25 countries. On 46 occasions, West Swedish companies have been given the opportunity to meet and present their solutions as well as obtain information on the relevant markets.

“Looking back at 2019, we are happy to see that the interest for smart and sustainable solutions in our region is still high. With delegations from 25 different countries, the interest areas are of course very different, but we can see many similarities between the delegations”, says Sofia McConnel, Head of Green Gothenburg.

“Technology is not seldom available from the shelf but in order to make it work, it needs organizations and people around it, that can work together to create results, and that is the most similar question asked; how public and private actors manage to cooperate and create mutual benefits and results”, says Sofia.

Transport peaks
The greatest interest is in the region’s transport solutions, as much as 35% of the year’s visit. Western Sweden’s strong position in the field of electrification and autonomous vehicles has attracted delegations from for example Mexico, India, Germany and Austria. Great interest has also been shown for urban development (16%) and for energy and waste (12%).
