Sweden has a long history of working with energy efficiency, and Swedish companies are at the forefront of the energy efficiency sector. One of them is the start-up company Watty, that has developed a sensor that measures how much electricity every gadget uses in the home.

Today there are many ways to control home energy usage. For both the environment and the energy bills, it is important to save energy.  Watty is a small Swedish start-up company, that has developed an application that can help to detect and identify appliances in the home based on energy usage patterns.

Their product, named Watty, is a small device that connects to a fusebox and from there monitor the households’ electricity use. It is done with a small device that connects to the electricity meter in the cabinet, as well as with artificial intelligence. In the connected smartphone, the app uses algorithms to detect and identify appliances in the home based on energy use patterns. This information can then be used to save money on bills and cut down on carbon emissions.
